 ....has artwork displayed at the brand new Performing Arts Center!? We do!! Twenty eight art teachers were chosen (out of the 120+ in the district) to display student artwork for the opening celebration of this spectacular new building and we were one of them! I am so proud of my Ortega young artists and so honored that we were chosen to participate! The display will be up for the next several weeks, so please go check it out when you get a chance. Especially because it gives my 5th graders the perfect reason to create some haute hot chocolate mugs - time for some colorful glaze!  ....local love bookstore, Book People, has partnered with the amazing creators of the new book Grandfather Gandhi and asked our Fine Arts Department to create several art lessons based on and inspired by this magical book. I, along with nine other chosen art teachers, now have our art lessons online and ready for the making!
