Is this Sunday, September 18th!
What does that mean, you ask? That means that you, your family, and friends can enjoy free access to exhibits and activities at Austin-area museums! So exciting!! For more information, and a listing of participating museums, please visit: http://www.austinmuseums.org/museumday/ P.S. You can find both of these inspiring outdoor art installations (seen in the images above) at The Laguna Gloria! http://www.thecontemporaryaustin.org/visit ....who your spirit animal is?? Because we do! Our annual fundraiser is upon us, and every grade level is creating a portrait of their spirit animal. They have been learning about the fascinating Native American culture and discovered the history/origin of the spirit animal. Taking inspiration from their newfound knowledge they have all researched various animals and chosen the one which they feel the most strongly for. It has been incredible observing their drawing skills with their animal/s grow and strengthen over the past few weeks.. I love the art making process and am so excited to see the final product!
....es! For the first many weeks in the art studio it's all about lines y'all. Soooooooo, for the first day in the studio my fantastic 1st - 5th graders created collaborative line sculptures! So much fun, and so many imaginative and creative ways in which they connected their lines and created entire paper line sculpture universes!
