....and onto the walls for display!
I am so SO proud of my 1st, 2nd and 3rd graders - they all collaborated on this large scale project and did it with joy and style. They worked so well together, and engaged in such wonderfully creative and intelligent conversations about their art and about how they were creating their art.. it all brought a big smile to my face for sure :) I am 144% certain we will be making more large scale projects such as this in the future! Love them.
....of the beginning stages of some of the artwork for E.A.S.T. Ms. Grantges has a whole lotta branches in her art studio!
....some large scale collaborative Navajo inspired rugs. My 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders are looooving painting at this large of a scale and I am looooooooving their color combinations! More details to be added to these beauties next week!
Our fabulous Ortega young artists are going to be a part of the East Austin Studio Tour! We will be hosting a Happening on Saturday, November 14th from 12 - 6pm and I could not be more excited!! It is sure to be a magical day filled with outdoor art installations and music performed by our choir and drum circle. For more details please visit the E.A.S.T. page of this site!
We're finishing up artwork for a little Art Fundraiser around here, and two of my 5th grade girls found some fun with combining their two initials - RAD indeed!
And the above is just one of my 3rd graders being spectacular with her use of implied line. Love it
....created by one of my darling Kindergarteners named Juliet during some *sketchbook time*. Just one of the many reasons why I love my job.
....also created by Juliet during *sketchbook time*. Before I snapped a picture of this one she exclaimed "Wait! I need to add lipstick. And a cupcake.".
I mean, I just can't even....constant cuteness in the Ortega Art Studio!
